Owen Developments launches state of the art GT2868 HTA ball bearing turbo for Nissan 200 SX

Leading performance turbocharger specialist Owen Developments is pleased to announce the launch of a new, bolt on turbocharger for the Nissan 200 SX / Silvia S14 and S15 models.

Called the GT2868 HTA, the Owen Development’s Nissan 200SX turbo features the very latest specification Garrett® GT28 ball bearing core and packs numerous features that represent the state-of-the-art in performance turbocharger design, with the twin goals of providing a high total power output and outstanding driveability.

Key technical features of the Owen Development’s GT2868 HTA include:

* Billet alloy HTA compressor wheel with for the ultimate in spool up response

* 0.64 a/r turbine housing

* Choice of anodised colours for billet HTA wheel and adaptor ring – red, black, blue or plain alloy options

* Revised aerodynamics on HTA compressor wheel for improved efficiency

* Aerodynamic domed nut on compressor wheel to aid inlet flow and response

* Owen’s billet stainless internal heat shield to reduce heat soak

* Uprated Owen’s motorsport specification ball bearings for ultimate durability from Garrett® GT core

Capable of producing approximately 400 bhp and a sustained 1.6 – 1.8 bar of boost, the Owen Developments GT2686 HTA’s alloy compressor wheel features advanced aerodynamic blade technology and an ultra low mass to ensure rapid spool up and unrivalled transient response.

This combination of high flow rate and superb boost characteristics means the Owen Development’s Garrett® GT2868 HTA turbocharger is ideally suited to the demands of drag racing, drifting or trackday / circuit use.

A direct, bolt on replacement for the original T28 unit used on the S14 and S15 variants of the Nissan 200SX / Sylvia, Owen Development’s Garrett® GT2868 HTA turbocharger offers the convenience of an internal wastegate unit with a performance level that rivals larger turbochargers that require considerable rework to enable installation.

Mindful of the needs of the performance aftermarket, Owen Development’s Garrett® GT2868 HTA turbocharger for the Nissan 200SX / Sylvia is offered with a choice of anodised colours on both the inlet compressor wheel and adaptor ring – allowing owners the ultimate in performance customisation for their engine bay.

  1. Forced Performance and Tial sport has told me they created the 68mm compressor wheel aka GT2868 and they hold the trade mark HTA, is this true? Please provide me as much detailed info as possible as I may use these turbos in my turbo kits.
